Two New Books at Eurohistory!

Dear Readers,

I hope all is well!

We have two new books coming within 6 weeks: From Freedom to Tyranny: The Memoirs of Countess Viktoria-Luise of Solms-Baruth, former Princess Friedrich Josias of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Mrs. Richard C.B. Whitten) and Royal Collections: Rare Royal and Princely Images from the Eurohistory Archive.

The late Countess wrote her memoirs hoping that one day they would see the light of day. She was the mother of Prince Andreas of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Viktoria -Luise was a fascinating woman who besides having pristine royal connections, Kaiser Wilhelm’s first wife was her godmother and great aunt, also led a fascinating life in the interwar period, the Second World War and its aftermath. The Solms-Baruth, a mediatized dynasty, were also one of Germany’s largest landowners, opponents of Hitler and extremely well connected.
In her memoirs she tells us about life in the interwar period, the rise of National Socialism, the changes former ruling dynasties experienced, the start of WWII, her marriage to Friedrich-Josias, end of the war, divorce and remarriage to an American officer, as well as her settling in the USA and her views on what it was for a royal to settle in the segregated South!

Eurohistory is bringing this book to you!

The book is FASCINATING and we added a large photo section to illustrate the author's long life. The printer is shipping copies to us the first week of March 2016!

+_+_+_+_+_+_

The second book is the fist volume in what I expect will be a series that will take us several years to complete…The Eurohistory Archive has somewhere around 400,000 images of royalty from 1850-Present. To better share them, I came up with the idea of a photo book series, each volume covering one or more kingdoms. The first is dedicated to Great Britain and has the following chapters:

The Eurohistory Archive
Great Britain: A Brief History of the Royal House
Queen Victoria (1819-1901)
King Edward VII (1841-1910)
King George V (1865-1936)
King Edward VIII (1894-1972)
King George VI (1895-1952)
Queen Elizabeth II (b.1926)

The Junior Branches of the Royal Family
The Dukes of Gloucester
The Dukes of Kent
The Duke of Edinburgh
The Dukes of Connaught
The Dukes of Albany

The Old Royal Family
The Dukes of Cumberland
The Dukes of Cambridge

Extended Family
The Battenbergs:
The Marquess Carisbrooke

The Tecks:
The Marquesses of Cambridge
The Earl of Athlone

The Mountbattens:
The Marquesses of Milford Haven
The Earls Mountbatten of Burma

Family Tree

The book has 461 photos and is 264-glossy pages and is scheduled to ship to us the first week in April 2016!
