ALBANY – One Dynasty, Two Destinies

Eurohistory is proud to bring to you our 28th book!

ALBANY – One Dynasty, Two Destinies is a photographic history of the descendants of Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, Queen Victoria's youngest son.

Married to the former Princess Helen of Waldeck-Pyrmont, the very talented Prince Leopold did not allow hemophilia to hinder the successful life he dreamt of leading.

Although he did not live long enough to meet his youngest child, a baby boy named Charles Edward, Leopold left an indelible mark on his children.

Today the descendants of the Duke and Duchess of Albany are found in England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, Finland, and, of course, Sweden!

This handsomely illustrated work (525 images in 272 glossy pages), covers all the descendants of Prince Leopold and Princess Helen. The authors, both noted royal historians with nearly twenty books to their name, have done extensive research to bring to the reader the most comprehensive collection of Albany descendants ever published. Among the photos used in the book, many were donated by descendants of Prince Leopold. In fact, no other published work has ever brought to the reader such a large selection of photos of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, and her descendants. Also, it is worth mentioning that many of the descendants of the 2nd Duke of Albany, later known as Carl Eduard, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, contributed rare images to include in this exquisite production. Among the families and dynasties included in this book are: Athlone, Abel Smith, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Sweden, Castell-Rüdenhausen, Saxe-Meiningen, Hohenzollern, to name but a few.

Readers will be mesmerized by the stories told by the authors, as well as by the uniqueness of the images chosen to illustrate their first joint project!

Kudos to Mr Golden and Mr Beéche  for putting together beautiful book filled with spellbinding narrative, as well as countess never-before-seen images of this little-known branch of Queen Victoria's descendants!

The book will be out in about four weeks and will sell for $48.95 plus shipping. We expect that our usual partners (MAJESTY, Hoogstraten English Bookstore, and Galignani) will sell the book. It will also be available through Eurohistory and our AMAZON seller page.
